2. You need to know that there is a penalty for that sin. "For the wages of sin is death;" Romans 6:23a
The word "death" doesn’t just mean dying and going to the grave, it means separation from God forever in a lake of fire. "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." Revelation 20:14This is our punishment for our sin, and a debt you owe as of right now.
3. You need to know that Jesus loves you so much that He paid that penalty for you, by shedding His blood and dying on the cross. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
4. You need to know that Jesus offers you the free gift of Heaven. "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23b
Going to Heaven is a gift. You can’t buy it, work for it, go to church for it, or be good for it. It’s absolutely free!
So, If you know… That you are a sinner, that there is a penalty for your sin which is death and hell,and that you believe Jesus died on the cross, shed His blood, and paid that penalty for you...
Then this is what you need to do: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
"Whosoever" means anyone, and it means you. If you will pray a simple prayer, and call upon Jesus to save you and give you a home in Heaven, He will do just that.
A sample prayer: "Dear Jesus, I know I’m a sinner, and I know there is a punishment for my sin. But today, I am trusting You, Jesus, and only You, to forgive my sins, and give me a home in Heaven. Thank You for saving me. Amen."
Remember, God’s Word says: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Now, you can know for sure, according to the Word of God, that you are going to Heaven!
